Youth Program

To put it simply, our youth gardening program is one of the best programs in the country.

Being perhaps the largest all volunteer based program in the U.S., our youth grow thousands of pounds of food for the needy of the Salt Lake area. What makes this program so succesful is the youth run the gardens. They plan, plant, maintain, harvest and distribute the produce themsleves. Along the way, these teens experience leadership talents, gardening skills, civic responsibilty and environmental stewardship. Many of their opportunities include meeting elected officials, media interviews, taking gardening classes and mastering time management.
